Ooooopsss..

Well. If you notice. Your on “marklog” but this “marklog” is on WordPress.com? Yep. I was stupid smart enough to create a marklog on WordPress.com in the event that the actual marklog went down. Well. It kind of went down. You see for me to make blog posts i need to go to “http://marklog.info/wp-admin/post-new.php” and then i see a nice little window with options to make the post better (Adding images etc etc.) Well. That little window decided to run to Hawaii for summer vacation. and leave me here unable to write postings on marklog @ marklog.info (No, Its not my email address.) So. Thats why your here. Beacuse i’m digging around in the other marklog to try to fix it. Or at least try to chain down that little box to my “wp-admin/” folder

We should be back on http://marklog.info by June 4th or 5th. For right now, marklog.info redirects you here.

Justin.tv, The failed platform PT:1-3

I’ve come to acknowledge, that in its current standing with its current up-time and viewership numbers. Justin.tv has failed. or to say the least sucks A<censored> Currently. As of 10:53:21PM there is no stream. Justine’s channel is mass populated by perverted ink-heads and when Justin’s stream actually is up. There isn’t any audio. Is this the “Perfect live, Lifecasting platform” that justin was talking about at the Cable conference? Right now, 99% of Ustream channel are more interesting, Up longer, Load faster and have more interesting content than the *three* justin.tv channels! ooooooooohhhhh! Threee!. I even acknowledge and admit, that i retract all previous postings with criticism’s towards Ustream.tv. As right now. UStream is kicking Justin.tv’s <censored>. Is this just me on an angry rant? Or am i right?

This is part one of three of a three part series of “Justin.tv, The failed platform”

My thoughts on “silent meetings” @ justin.tv

Justin.TV silent meeting photo

That’s what user’s see durring a justin.tv “Silent meeting”. Note how i say “See” as they inteonally un-plug the audio. I think this is a really lazy ass way of doing things. With each day i can understand more and more at why some of Justin.tv’s first viewers decided to leave and make better use of there time. Its beacuse of Justin.tv’s Lack of OTUL Better known as Owner to User loality. Not only do they not know what it is. They don’t make any attempt at starting to buid it. Not having OTUL is like building a house on land you don’t own. It doesnt work. Pretty much it means that your telling users “Here, Watch this like it and don’t bug us about it. Beacuse we don’t care.” (Which, Is also the atitude of the whole apartment. Orignally seen by Emmett.)

I’ve decided that i will re-start my “Break the chain. Don’t repost chain letters.” Movement. This means that on site such as YouTube, Google Video and forums I (and others) will mark user’s chainletters as spam and then post one of the following notices on the user’s channel comments, Or PM the user.

Break the chain. Don’t repost chain letters. Chainletters are fake and illegal in most cases.

Spam chainletters? Get banned. Many sites ban users who spam or post chain letters. You could be the next.

I’m also considering a new type of movement which actually uses a “Anti-Chain” meaning something in the ball park of..

“If you dont mark 40 chain letters spam within the next 20 minutes than your computer will crash!”

But the only reason i consider those is beacuse those aren’t actually illegal. i.e there not threatning that if you don’t repost it (In this case mark comments that are chainletters as spam.) that your mother will die. etc etc.

I’d be intrested in seeing your response to this. Feel free to comment on it or email my anti-chain letter address at:

Learning something about coke.

Today i actually learned something about Vanilla coke…

Vanilla coke. Taken by me.

On November 3, 2005, the Cola-Cola Company announced that Vanilla Coke and its diet counterpart would be discontinued in the United Kingdom by early 2006. A day later it was announced that it would be phased out in North America by the end of 2005.

But…

From February 19, 2007 Vanilla Coke was reintroduced into New Zealand.[9] Some US restaurants have recently started to carry Vanilla Coke at fountains as well.

Don’t be lazy when upgrading WordPress

This is why you should never be lazy when upgrading your WordPress installation and always read instructions…

Phew! I felt I learnt a lesson today… to follow instructions!

I was upgrading this blog to WordPress 2.2, and halfway along my installation process, along came an unfriendly error message that went something like this!

Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 46080 bytes)

The main page of the blog was still up running, but I couldn’t access my back end. I couldn’t upgrade, I couldn’t add new posts… nothing! I thought that this was it!

[[This is a second repost of a topic i posted a while ago but due to some downtime never gave away the invite]]

I have 1 more Joost invite up for grabs. If your intrested just comment in the comment box below.

If you’ve ever seen me in chatroom’s (any, even more so when i’m a moderator or when i’m a global mod) You’ll notice that i get on people for alot of things. So to try to clear this up i made a list on what i’ll get on you about.

  • Un-needed link or linking via usernames.  If you link to your site via your username or just plug your site than most likely i’ll get on you. This is even more so when it has nothing to do with the topic being discussed at the moement.
  • Spamming. (Note for rooms where i’m a mod on *only* people who spam get kicked at banned for 78 hours. No exceptions***. – Do it again and get KZlined*)
  • Flooding. If you flood (Flooding is defined by posting 2 or more lines in chat per second) than you get banned and kicked for 12 hours**

* No exceptions.

** This applies only to networks / channels of which i moderate / have moderation permissons

*** If you can provide 3 or more sources of evidence than you might be able to get unbanned.

New marklog additon.

I’ve now started another blog called “Cricketlog” as many of you know, I write about Cricket on my blog very often, and due to cricket’s fast growth i don’t see this slowing down much. So for that reason i’ve moved all cricket topic’s onto there own site. the new site (As mentioned abouve) is called “Cricketlog” and is (for now) hosted on WordPress.com. The main focus on this blog is going to be Cricket. But if i see the need / intrest to start blogs on other cell phone providers or the cell phone market in general i might do so as well.

So go check it out and subscribe if you like it. http://crickwireless.wordpress.com

(P.S You might notice, It looks alot like one blog you might read.)
